The World Justice Project (WJP) is seeking a full-time, paid intern for a minimum of six and up to 16 weeks May September 2021. The intern will support the work of the WJP's Executive and Development offices. The internship will be done on a hybrid schedule (e.g. 2-3 days/week in the Washington DC office and otherwise remotely). The intern must have access to a laptop and to a reliable internet source for remote work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will split time between WJP's Executive and Development Offices, working directly with the Executive Director and Chief Development Officer. Specific responsibilities in each office include:

Executive Office Duties:

A primary focus of the intern's work in the Executive Office will be supporting the Executive Director in her role as co-chair of a series of meetings on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), focused on developing an agenda for progress on Goal 16 as part of the Rockefeller Foundation/Brookings Institution 17 Rooms Initiative. In addition, the intern may be called upon to undertake a range of research, writing, and administrative tasks, including: drafting correspondence; attending and taking notes at internal and external meetings; and undertaking research and writing to support the Executive Director's writing and speaking engagements

Development Office Duties:

A primary focus of the intern's work in the Development Office will be to support the Chief Development Officer and a new Director of Private Sector Partnerships to stand up a new Private Sector Partnership for the Rule of Law program. Specific duties may include research on private sector Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives; drafting correspondence; managing database contacts; and attending and taking notes in internal and external meetings.


  • Current Bachelor's degree student;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and collaboration tools (Slack, Microsoft Teams);
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database experience a plus, but not required (Salesforce);
  • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently, and ability to give and receive feedback;
  • Highly dependable with ability to work independently as well as in teams and to be flexible on day-to-day tasks;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and attention to detail;
